Team/Role Overview
The Banking Technology team is a vital part of Citi's broader technology organisation. The team is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technology solutions that support various Investment and Corporate Banking functions, including M&A, Capital Markets, and Lending. The team works closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver innovative solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance client experience. The team works closely with product owners, business analysts, and technology partners across various lines of business.
What You'll Do
As a Banking Technology Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and driving the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for key technology solutions within the banking domain. On a personal level, this role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. You will be expected to collaborate with stakeholders across different functions and levels to understand their needs and translate them into actionable product requirements. The purpose of this role is to ensure that our technology solutions effectively support our banking operations, enhance client experience, and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and maintain a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with Citi's overall banking and technology objectives.
- Gather and Prioritise Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs and customer expectations.
- Translate Requirements into Specifications: Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the development team.
- Manage Product Backlog: Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the most important and valuable features and enhancements.
- Lead Agile Development: Act as the product owner in an agile development environment, working closely with developers, testers, and designers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Monitor and Analyse Performance: Monitor and analyse product performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimise effectiveness.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to banking and financial services.
- Communicate Product Updates: Communicate product updates, roadmaps, and key milestones to stakeholders across the organisation.
What We'll Need From You
We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of banking operations, technology solutions, and regulatory requirements in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing technology products and delivering value to stakeholders. Include the essential qualifications and skills required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong experience in product management, with a focus on technology solutions for banking and financial services.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, processes, and systems.
- Experience with regulatory requirements related to banking and financial services (e.g., KYC, AML, MiFID).
- Proven ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
- Experience working in an agile development environment, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organisation.
