Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation and QA Lead to join our dynamic team, which is responsible for the quality assurance of a critical financial sub-ledger application. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of our systems that form the backbone of our financial reporting and accounting processes. . The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with demonstrable expertise in Java, Shell Scripting, and Python. Proficiency in crafting complex database queries is essential. You should have a deep understanding of modern test automation tools and frameworks, including BDD with Cucumber, internal frameworks like FAST, and various UI testing frameworks. Beyond technical prowess, you must have a passion for mentoring junior automation developers, guiding them to build robust and scalable test solutions. A background in the financial and accounting domain is a significant plus and will help you succeed in this role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and define the test automation strategy for the financial sub-ledger application.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient automated test frameworks and scripts.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to a team of junior QA automation engineers.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in testing and automation.
  • Collaborate closely with development, business analysis, and product management teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Perform and lead various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries to perform data validation and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and report software defects and work with development teams to see them through to resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Prepare and present test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.

      Recommended Qualifications:

      • 8-10 years of relevant experience in software development/ QA and test automation.
      • Strong hands-on programming skills in Java, with proficiency in Shell Scripting and Python.
      • Expertise in writing and optimizing complex database queries for data validation.
      • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber.
      • Experience with automation frameworks like FAST is a plus
      • Proficiency with UI testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
      • Proven ability to mentor and lead junior automation developers.
      • Familiarity with financial and accounting domains is a significant plus.
      • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
      • Master’s degree preferred
