Job Posting: Senior Java Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java Developer to join our technology team. This intermediate-level position plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of new and existing application systems. As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle and work in coordination with a talented team to deliver robust, high-quality software solutions that meet critical business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Development:Plan, design, develop, and manage sophisticated Java-based applications and software using Microservices architecture.
  • Full-Lifecycle Ownership:Monitor and control all phases of the development process, including systems analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
  • Technical Analysis:Utilize your in-depth expertise in applications development to analyze complex problems, evaluate business and system processes, and provide insightful recommendations based on industry standards.
  • Project Contribution:Participate in feasibility studies, provide time and cost estimates, and contribute to IT planning and model development.
  • Security & Compliance:Recommend and implement security measures and ensure all procedures adhere to Citigroup's policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship:Serve as a subject matter expert, consulting with users, clients, and other technology groups on technical issues. Act as an advisor and coach to new or junior team members.
  • Operational Support:Provide essential user and operational support for applications, ensuring system stability and functionality.
  • Risk Management:Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, with a strong consideration for the firm's reputation and the security of its clients and assets.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8-12 years of relevant, hands-on experience in software development using Java
  • Expert proficiency withJava,Spring Framework (Spring Boot), and buildingMicroservices.
  • Strong understanding ofObject-Oriented Programming (OOP) principlesandDesign Patterns.
  • Strong exposure to Database - Oracle
  • Proven experience in systems analysis and the programming of complex software applications.
  • A Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Preferred:

  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
  • Working knowledge of consulting or project management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to manage deadlines and changing requirements.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy.

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
