About the Xtrackers Team/Overview

As part of our Xtrackers team, you as a Product Specialist (Analyst) – Xtrackers form part of a global team located in New York, London, Frankfurt and Luxembourg. You cover the entire lifecycle of ETFs and Index Institutional Mandates from the first idea, through index and product design and implementation. Product maintenance and terminations are further modules. Acting as Product Specialist in client meetings and industry events is another important pillar. While you focus on US and our 40 Act ETFs based in the Product Division, you maintain relationships with our CCD (sales) and Investment Division (Portfolio Management, Capital Markets) teams worldwide. A growing emphasis on ESG integration for all future strategies and the ability to quickly shift priorities are key.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on innovative and creative ETF / index concepts in collaboration with index providers

  • Interact directly with key partners such as our clients, index providers and other business partners

  • Support the development and due diligence of new ETF and index concepts in collaboration with Portfolio Management, Sales, Legal, Capital Markets.

  • Help with the translation of index/strategy concepts into legal product documentation.

  • Contribution to the production and promotion of thought leadership, content and marketing material.

  • Work towards becoming a sales and client-facing product expert across asset classes and replication types with expert product and industry knowledge

  • Run product and market analytics such as wallet studies, product comparisons and peer/benchmark metrics

  • Gather knowledge to become an index expert regarding construction/maintenance but also ESG metrics

  • Produce education and marketing materials as well as material supporting junior team-mates and new joiners

  • Support the ongoing maintenance of and improvements to the product platform, including the continuous improvement and digitalization of processes

Your Skills & Experience:

  • University degree, preferably in Mathematics, IT, Finance or Economics

  • Good basic knowledge and previous work experience in the Indexing or Risk sector, including strong knowledge of the index tracking ecosystem

  • Previous experience in a technical environment and with the general mathematical concepts of finance and an ability to efficiently communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences

  • Good knowledge around regulatory and governance requirements such as SEC requirements (e.g. Prospectuses and other offering documents) and US fund regulation. Knowledge of other markets as a plus.

  • Experience in project management as a plus

  • Good macroeconomic understanding and ability to connect market events with product performance in order to create market driven sales angles

  • Highly motivated, self-sufficient, with a can-do attitude and a strong willingness to learn, take on new challenges and serve our clients.

  • Diligent, efficient and able to manage multiple conflicting deliverables including working under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg. Programming skills (e.g. Python) are a clear plus

  • Strong English language skills required plus additional relevant languages (e.g. German) as a plus

Expectations

It is DWS’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the firm’s hybrid working model.

DWS provides reasonable accommodations to candidates and employees with a substantiated need based on disability and/or religion.

The salary range for this position in New York City/California is $77,000 to $118,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
