Overview
The Technology, Data, and Innovation (TDI) division is responsible for driving an integrated Information Technology (IT), data, and security agenda across the Bank. The function is responsible for implementing the Bank’s technology strategy focused on strengthening engineering expertise, introducing an agile delivery model, reducing administrative overheads, de-coupling assets within our IT estate for faster, cost-efficient deployments, as well as modernizing the Bank’s IT infrastructure with long-term investments and benefiting from cloud computing. Within TDI, Investment Banking, Fixed Income Currencies Technology – the Foreign Exchange Production Team are responsible for maintaining application stability the Deutsche Bank Foreign Exchange Franchise. The team provides front line support to the trading and sales business community and external clients for the Foreign Exchange (FX) applications (Pricing and Trading) and their associated applications used by the Global Foreign Exchange business, including the electronic trading applications. The team is responsible for management of Deutsche Bank’s premier FX trading platforms providing execution, market data and post-trade services to external and internal clients.

What You’ll Do
Set and track short-, medium- and long-term priorities for cross-locational teams based in US (NY, Jacksonville), as well as Set up new and maintain existing monitoring environments for proactive overall availability of the trading platform
Be aware of brewing issues, upcoming market events, and ongoing projects to prioritize workloads effectively
Maintain and strengthen professional working relationships with Front Office Trading, Sales, and Product & Business Partners, while working closely with development and infrastructure teams globally, to remediate issues, introduce new functionality, and enhance the trading platforms
Manage the UNIX/Windows application and database server estate, as well as identify, investigate, and resolve application/infrastructure issues impacting the Business; whilst ensuring communication updates provided at regular intervals
Ensure strategic follow-ups (incl. reviewing opportunities for automation) take place in a bid to reduce repeat occurrences of issues & incident, in addition to ensuring appropriate resourcing and planning in place for activities such as Application Releases, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Plan exercises, etc
Active participation in local, regional, and global process improvement initiatives, while being responsible for Engagement in wider Technology forums when possible, ie Engineering Days, Hackathons, Data Science challenges, etc
How You’ll Lead
Guide and support team members from a technical & management perspective; as well as taking escalations from and on behalf of the team
Lead by example and participate in activities undertaken by existing team
Provide specialist technical support for electronic pricing, trading and risk applications, plus post trade functionality and downstream feeds
Skills You’ll Need
Industry experience, incl. several years of hands-on leadership within the Electronic Trading Application Support domain
Strong understanding of Fixed Income Currencies Businesses, in particular the Foreign Exchange Business
Strong technical skills ie Unix, Structured Query Language (SQL), Python & Shell Scripting, Geneos Monitoring, and Scheduling Tools, etc
FIX messaging protocol experience
Familiarity across the ITIL framework in Change, Incident, and Problem Management; as well as awareness of Agile concepts across the Software Development Life Cycle
Skills That Will Help You Excel
A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
Critical thinking mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment
Temperament to work under pressure in a fast-moving production environment
Exceptional verbal and written skills, in order to communicate effectively with business users, technology peers, and senior management alike
Self-motivated, proactive in nature, and ability to work independently; as well as collaboratively in a global organization
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $120,000 to $200,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
