Team / division overview

EMEA Alternative Credit is a key growth pillar of the EUR 115bn DWS Alternatives franchise. The Alternative Credit platform aims to build diversified portfolios across Direct Lending, Leveraged Loans and Structured Credit that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns with a focus on capital preservation to a broad spectrum of investors including governments, corporations, insurance companies and private clients.

Role Details

As a CLO Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for

• Effective management and optimisation of the EMEA Alternative Credit CLO portfolios
• Managing performance metrics, compliance tests and daily cash balances of the CLO portfolios
• Evaluating new investment opportunities and conducting due diligence and preparation of credit approval memos for submission to Investment Committees
• Working in partnership with underwriting teams to identify and recommend enhancements across the portfolio and run optimisation exercises
• Working in partnership with relevant Product and Coverage teams to support the creation and development of fund marketing materials and providing responses to investor data queries
• Participate in client investor meetings to help build and maintain key relationships
• Assessing and monitoring credit risk and ensuring compliance with investment guidelines

We are looking for

• Proven experience across buy-side loan investment management focussing on CLOs
• Very strong credit analysis experience reviewing credit agreements, legal documentation, trustee reports and compliance metrics and rating agency CLO methodologies
• Strong financial modelling and legal documentation skills
• Excellent credit skills demonstrated through prior relevant experience underwriting, structuring and executing private credit and/or leveraged finance transactions with a focus on CLOs
• Solid experience of Investment Committees and the associated preparation of materials to support their processes
• Experience of managing relationships with a complex client base, to help retention of existing and growth of new clients
• Experience of effectively managing risk controls within an investments environment, with sound experience around the fiduciary duty of care and diligence
• Educated to degree level in a Finance related discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or an acceptable level of industry experience

DWS’ Hybrid Working model in the UK is designed to find the right balance between in-person collaboration and engagement in the office, which is core to our working culture, and working from home. Employees who wish to sign-up to our Hybrid Working model are required to work in the office two days a week, and given the flexibility to work from home for the remaining three.
