Details of the Division and Team:
Trade Settlement and Confirmation Operations (“TSCO”) is the core settlement operation group for IB Business. The team is covering multiple asset classes divided into sub teams: FX, OTC Derivatives, Fixed Income Securities, Investment Trust Funds, Money Market, Treasury, Nostro Management, Loan, supporting both internal and external client’s transactions for both Deutsche Securities Inc and Deutsche Bank AG Tokyo branch. Team mainly supports transactions executed by the IB business but also supports Corporate banking business as well when the asset class falls into the product supported by TSCO. External clients span across corporates to financial institutions, life insurance, trust banks and asset manager whom the main office may reside outside of Japan. The role will require strong communication skill in Japanese and in English.
The role will eventually face client, front office and other infra divisions such as finance and other operations team across different offshore locations with the support of the senior member within the team.
The role will be supporting the day to day process maintaining the required control governance framework under the senior member’s supervision and is eventually expected to be able to work to to build a robust settlement workflow.

Your key responsibilities:
- Support IB Business / Corrporate Banking Business Settlements and confirmation for asset class: FX, OTC Derivatives, Investment Trust Funds, Fixed Income Security, Loan, Money Market, Treasury, Nostro Management.
- Participate in various projects and user acceptance testing as the Tokyo User representative to the regional and global project team as well as to the IT team who may be located in other APAC/EMEA locations - projects may include System change, Process analysis, DB’s new initiative
- Assist the senior member to perform end to end settlement analysis and detail analysis for process improvements.
- Contribute in implementing procedural and control changes in response to regulatory and policy changes.
- Client facing – solve day to day transactional issues with client, navigate client to the correct team for queries for other division
- Take part in new business initiatives and operational initiatives
Your skills and experience:
- Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in the investment banking industry in Settlement Operations or Project Management.
- Preferred: Direct Customer support / Client Service / Post trade Sales service experience preferred
- Preferred: Experience in FX, OTC Derivatives, Loan, Money Market, Equity, Fixed Income Securities
- Able to self study, work and navigate independently
- Ability to work on new system, applications and tools
- Fosters & motivates creative thinking in self & others and promotes new ideas.
- Eager to learn – operational flow, system flow, market requirement to deepen the understanding of the product
- Educated to University degree level
- Fully conversant in Japanese with strong conversant skills for English including written communication
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 product
- Able to communicate with teams from different country and cultural backgrounds with patience and understanding towards cultural diversity.
