Job Title: Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Birmingham

Corporate Title: Vice President

The Employee Relations (ER) team is part of Deutsche Bank’s Performance and Reward department and performs three main functions: to manage investigations, grievances and disciplinaries; to advise on Employee Relations issues, and to deliver training. The team is supported by a Governance and Control team.

ER conducts investigations into disciplinary allegations for Deutsche Bank globally. This involves performing investigations, making findings of fact, drafting reports and delivering outcomes, including managing the disciplinary procedures globally. In doing so, ER will work in close collaboration with the Bank’s other investigative functions, as well as with Compliance, Legal and Performance and Reward.

Your key responsibilities

  • Oversee ER cases for UKI and Europe
  • Conduct internal investigations into potential misconduct
  • Advise HR Business Advisors on complaints and disciplinary matters including investigations, disciplinaries and grievances led by HR Business Advisors
  • Collaborate with HR Business Advisors on Employee Relations issues
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop and facilitate training and sharing cultural observations
  • Participate in special projects on a regional and global basis

Your skills and experience

  • Previous experience managing Employee Relations matters in UKI and Europe; ideally experience of regulatory and regulatory reporting environment
  • Demonstrable experience in relation to managing high profile, complex employee misconduct cases or complex investigations
  • Strong knowledge of employment law across UKI and European countries
  • Experience of influencing at all levels of the organisation including senior HR management, Head of Control functions and Senior Business heads
  • Critical analysis and ability to distil issues from complex Investigative reports
  • Sound judgement and the ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience of regulatory and regulatory reporting environment
