Overview

As a Valuation Control Governance & Analytics team member, you will focus on Independent Price Verification (IPV) controls across all businesses for the Americas. This position is in Valuation Risk Management and resides in the US (New York).

You’ll be an integral part of the team focusing on all aspects of valuation control including coordination across IPV, fair value reserving, prudent valuation, methodology, leveling and control framework. You will also be involved on the Market Risk side and interact across the entire organization including Front Office, Risk and Finance. This role also includes managing relevant regulatory and internal projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for the valuation risk governance for Americas including but not limited to valuation, leveling, sourcing of market data and back testing, prudent valuation, model calibration, methodology reviews, reporting, observability and analysis of results. This includes for all business lines (i.e. Rates, Credit, and Emerging Markets)
  • Help in review and deep-dive analysis of Level 3 (i.e. hard-to-value positions), bespoke and structured trades
  • Respond to relevant regulatory and audit queries. Assist with audit and regulatory requests
  • Daily engagement with Senior Management on valuation topics as well as liaising across the Bank with key stakeholders including Front Office, Risk functions, IT and Global Heads
  • Involvement on the Market Risk side as fully integrated with Valuation Risk function

Skills You’ll Need

  • Math(s), Sciences, Finance, Business, or other relevant degrees preferred
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to present and effectively articulate your view to senior management
  • Extensive experience of working in a markets/investment banking environment either in a control function, valuation, finance or risk management

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Familiarity of financial instrument valuation and risks measurement in a complex asset class, preferably in credit or rates area
  • Team player with positive attitude and work ethic but can also work well independently
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and similar data analytical tools like python/tableau would be a plus
  • Project Management skills; keeping updated plans and tracking along critical path
  • Ability to troubleshoot and communicate complex topics and issues to Senior management in an effective manner

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $85,000 to $120,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
