Overview

As a Business Analyst on the Fixed Income team (FIC), you will act as the bridge between trading, quantitative, and technology groups to deliver critical solutions across the trade lifecycle. You will shape functional specifications, refine processes, and ensure that technology meets business priorities. You will directly impact efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the overall competitiveness of the trading business. In this role, you will bring clarity to complex requirements and drive collaboration across diverse global stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with traders, quantitative analysts, and operations to gather and translate business requirements into actionable deliverables
  • Lead workshops and working groups to define functional specifications, solution designs, and target state processes
  • Support user acceptance testing through test planning, case creation, and defect triage
  • Collaborate with global teams to align projects with strategic goals and ensure consistent delivery
  • Conduct gap analysis between current and future state systems and processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in business analysis practices and documentation standards

How You’ll Lead

  • Act as a strategic advisor to trading desks, ensuring solutions align with business priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams from ideation through production rollout
  • Influence senior stakeholders and mentor junior analysts to foster collaboration and excellence

Skills You’ll Need

  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income products (such as bonds, credit default swaps, and repurchase agreements) and trade lifecycle
  • Experience with trading platforms and market data systems (such as Bloomberg and Tradeweb)
  • Familiarity with post-trade processes including clearing, settlement, and reconciliation
  • Proficiency with tools including Jira, Confluence, Excel, Visio, and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Understanding of technology and database concepts, including Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $185,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
