Xtrackers by DWS is a large and established provider of high-quality passive solutions across wrappers. Providing efficient ‘passive’ exposure to diversified indices or to single commodities, Xtrackers ETFs and ETCs provide a comprehensive set of dependable investment tools for effective portfolio allocation. Xtrackers Mandates & Solutions offer bespoke passive solutions for primarily institutional clients.
Xtrackers Sales drive the distribution of Xtrackers ETFs, Xtrackers Passive Mandates and bespoke wrappers in close partnership with local sales colleagues in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the US, and form the link to Xtrackers Portfolio Management, Xtrackers Product and other internal teams involved in the successful delivery of Xtrackers ETFs, Mandates and Solutions to our clients.
The Xtrackers Sales team operates internationally, is highly solutions-oriented and caters to predominantly institutional clients (public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies, central banks and sovereign wealth funds, but also family offices, wealth managers and other distribution channels).
The team engages with prospective clients early in the process to identify their needs, indicate potential solutions and illustrate our capabilities, operating in close cooperation with local client owner teams. We distribute Xtrackers ETFs both includes Passive ETFs and Active ETFs. On Xtrackers Mandates & Solutions side, we help design index-linked and rules-based exposures, support the selection of appropriate benchmarks to precisely reflect the client’s strategy, develop alternative index concepts or customised, dedicated portfolio solutions. In doing so, the team draws on both existing indices and individual solutions jointly developed between client, the Xtrackers index strategy team, portfolio management, and, as required, external index providers. This is further enhanced by the expansive scope of the Xtrackers platform, which affords bespoke client solutions irrespective of investment wrapper.
Role Details
As a Senior Coverage Specialist, Passive Sales, you will be responsible for:
- Introduce DWS Passive capability and market our Xtrackers ETFs (UCITS and 1940Act) to Japan Institutions, Private Banks, Wealth Managers, IAMs, IFAs, Robo Advisors / online platforms, as well as Feeder Fund (white label) opportunities as well as Passive Mandates.
- Deepen existing client relationships and further expand the client base, to achieve the assigned KPIs
- The individual is expected to play a proactive role in leading and facilitating business growth in the region, by addressing client needs, delivering value add service, identifying pipelines, and diligent follow ups with clients to close the opportunities.
- Organize client events, prepare newsletters and product updates mailers for clients, provide feedback on product demand (new launches, product changes, registrations requirements, etc.)
- Be an efficient team player, by collaborating with the rest of Xtrackers Sales APAC team as well as global stakeholders such as Product, Capital Markets, Portfolio Management, Marketing, Reporting etc.
- Also you will be expected to support our external partners that distribute our ETFs through fund of ETF(s) scheme. Experience in client facing role with local regional banks / credit unions is considered as a plus.
We are looking for:
- Degree qualified with preference in finance related discipline
- Min 8 years relevant experience in the financial industry, in a client facing role (Sales or Product Specialist roles) covering Institutions in Japan
- Will also consider candidates working in brokerage, private banks, wealth managers, insurance companies, family offices, who understand how ETFs are used in portfolios, or involved in the decision-making process when selecting Funds / ETFs
- Team player, highly motivated, with passion for passive / index investing and a good understanding of ETFs
- Strong technical skills and experience with various asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives) and market drivers, to facilitate a meaningful dialogue with clients
- Excellent communication skills in both English & Japanese written and verbal
