The Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement (LRE) team is responsible for managing the Bank's contentious legal matters. As a member of this team, you will serve as a key-contributor overseeing and providing legal advice on litigation disputes, regulatory enforcement investigations and pre-litigation matters. This role will require interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders, collaboration across functions, management and development of strategy on a variety of complex litigations and regulatory enforcement matters, including instructing and overseeing external counsel, briefing and advising internal senior stakeholders and advising and supporting on internal investigations.

Your key responsibilities
Directing the conduct of civil litigation and regulatory enforcement matters
Instructing and supervising outside counsel, serving as a primary interface between outside counsel and the business, overseeing the locating and collection of relevant documentary evidence and conducting interviews
Reporting to and advising senior management
Working with other members of the Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement team globally, e.g. on cross border matters.
Coordinating with other functions including Comms, AFC and Regulatory Management
Advising other functions on contentious issues including the internal investigations function, transactional legal teams and AFC.
Your skills and experience
Significant experience at major law firm, in-house legal department and/or regulatory authorities, all involving oversight of civil litigation and regulatory enforcement matters (government investigations, criminal or regulatory matters)
Qualified to practice in England and Wales
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and create and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders
Must be able to work independently and an organised self-starter
Experience working for or with financial institutions is a plus
