As an Associate Business Manager & Governance Expert within the Investment Banking & Cross Product Operations (IB CPO) Chief Operating Office (COO), you will support and help steer divisional management across a broad range of business management and governance activities. You will be part of a team that enables IB CPO to deliver critical services aligned to front office needs within Corporate and Investment Banking, including sales and trading support, regulatory compliance, funding, cash and margin management, and operational tax activities.
As part of the IB CPO COO Business Management team, you will support financial, resource, governance and change initiatives across the division. You will gain broad exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic priorities, while developing strong foundational business management skills. In this role, you will execute and coordinate core business management activities, own defined deliverables, and support senior leaders in driving effective financial, operational and governance outcomes across the IB CPO COO agenda.

Your key responsibilities
Manage and support functional and regional headcount tracking, including hiring requirements and leavers, ensuring accurate forecasting against plan and providing clear variance analysis.
Lead and support monthly financial forecasting and governance of the book of work in partnership with Central Ops COO and Operations stakeholders, including milestone and benefits management.
Provide insightful analysis and commentary across cost, headcount and operational metrics, and support annual financial, headcount and operational planning cycles.
Drive and support direct and indirect annual cost allocation recertifications, explaining operational drivers, variances and allocation rationales, and responding to ad‑hoc cost queries.
Own and support monthly business management review processes, including preparation of strategy materials, management information, presentations and analysis for senior management.
Build strong relationships across Operations, Finance and COO, supporting regional / functional Business Continuity Management responsibilities, escalating risks and issues appropriately, and contributing to regional and global COO priorities, including transformation and people agenda initiatives.
Your skills and experience
Educated to bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification or relevant work experience, with exposure to Investment Banking.
Experience in a Finance, Business Management or Project Management role.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with experience working with large datasets, dashboards or management information.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex issues and translate them into clear, actionable solutions.
Self‑motivated and organised, comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities and changing demands.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex topics for senior audiences and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
