Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) bridging the Bank’s business and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.
You will join the IB Divisional Data Office (DDO) in GSA, responsible for the Investment Bank’s data. Our work spans many aspects of data – engineering, issue resolution, strategy, controls and governance. You will be delivering to our data engineering responsibilities – engaging with groups to understand and manage our data including investigating data quality issues, defining data strategy, processes, policies and guidelines.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop deep business, operational, data and architectural knowledge including key systems and data flows, business, technical and operational processes and controls supporting the IB.
Your work will support successful delivery of the wider Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Program and addresses regulatory requirements and internal control needs.

Your key responsibilities
Execute Data Engineering tasks to deliver our data governance responsibilities including data lineage, authoritative data sourcing, issue investigation and resolution, adjustments, data quality controls, end-user-developed-applications and business processes.
Define, design and execute sustainable governance processes to meet regulatory and control requirements; identify opportunities to streamline, improve accuracy and efficiency;
Collaborate across business, operations, engineering and architecture teams, Chief Data Office and operations and controls teams and downstream consumers to deliver on the bank’s data initiatives.
Prepare and present updates on Data Engineering topics to the IB Divisional Data Council, track execution progress, KPIs and data metrics.
Your skills and experience
Analytical problem solving, engineering and data governance experience including system architecture, data lineage, authoritative sourcing, data quality controls, Data Products.
Exposure to Investment Banking applications, business processes and capabilities and an understanding of business, technical and data architecture.
Adaptable, analytical and structured when working to solve problems.
Flexible and proactive – with experience delivering in a fast paced and complex environment.
Strong communication skills – able to establish effective relationships with teams across the bank, facilitate meetings, engage stakeholders and update into senior forums.
Proven ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups. Experience of leveraging AI and LLMs to optimise our work while enhancing quality.
