Job Title: Control Oversight and Advisory – Market Conduct Office

Location: London

The Market Conduct Office (MCO) is an opportunity to embed market conduct in business decisions, and to improve the efficiency, sustainability and transparency of Market Conduct controls management. Residing within the Front Office, reporting up into the Head of the IB, and will focus on providing governance and oversight for all of Deutsche Bank activities related to market conduct.

MCO will promote resiliency and sustainability of the Market

MCO strategically brings together the existing market conduct capabilities with the Firm’s overall risk management framework to complement existing processes and create efficiencies while ensuring central oversight.

You will support a strategic and sustainable control oversight program by translating multiple sources of market conduct information (such as alerts, events, and control improvements identified) into tangible actions to maintain a strong controls culture embedded into our Bank.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Develop and agree remediation, track milestones to completion, evidence closure.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of identified issues and perform read across of issues, external events to all relevant businesses and divisions

  • Input, review and approve control design prior to implementation of controls enhancements

  • Conduct analysis of market conduct key control effectiveness across the firm. Review effective closure of 1Line of Defence monitoring alerts.

  • Identify emerging risks, external conduct events, new regulations/ laws, industry standards

  • Provide Market Conduct Risk SME advisory to businesses by interpreting conduct rules and regulatory expectations. Identify escalations needed to senior management

Your skills and experience

  • Experience in Global Markets (ideally Fixed Income) with strong product/trading activity understanding and associated conduct risks.

  • Strong practical understanding of Market Abuse Regulations across the globe and key conduct obligations/supervisory expectations.

  • Demonstrable market conduct risk experience in 1LoD (Business Risk, Non-Financial Risk, COO) or 2LoD (Compliance) roles

  • Ability to challenge the front office credibly based on practical Markets experience

  • Proven track record in design/delivery/oversight of control enhancements, including target operating model and ‘future state’ controls

  • Proven track record of successfully working within diverse, high performing teams and departments both locally and remotely
