Details of the Division and Team:
GFX sits within Fixed Income & Currencies (“FIC”) and is part of the Investment Banking division which brings together the bank’s institutional sales force, with trading and structuring expertise across Foreign Exchange, Rates, Credit and Emerging Markets.
The GFX trader is responsible for the execution of client orders and risk management of FX products within Japan, in cooperation with Coverage, Structuring, Research and Infrastructure partners.
GFX serves the needs of our customers across the full product spectrum from basic liquidity provision in the spot market to innovative derivative solutions for both asset and liability managers.

Your key responsibilities:
- Execution of client orders and risk management of FX products within Japan.
- Grow and develop the GFX franchise in Japan, regionally in APAC and through partnering globally across the FIC franchise.
- Interacting with clients, sales and internal counterparties in other trading, coverage and structuring functions to generate new business and build market share.
- Interacting with clients and internal counterparties to increase market transparency and generate new business.
- Building a sustainable business and market share.
- Managing financial and non-financial risks.
Your skills and experience:
- Knowledge of the asset class.
- Experience as a trader and revenue generation.
- Risk management skills.
- Quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of capital and regulatory matters in both cash and derivative products.
- Good communication and influencing skills
- Strong and persuasive communication skills in English; Japanese language ability desirable but not essential
- JSDA1 qualification holder preferred (but not mandatory)
