Overview
The Loan Operations Analyst supports the end-to-end operating control framework for Deutsche Bank’s whole loan trading activity, with a focus on residential mortgage products and related trade lifecycle processes. The role acts as a critical bridge between the Front Office, Operations, Derivatives Middle Office, Treasury Services, Cash Operations, servicers, custodians, and other control partners to ensure trades are captured, validated, settled, reconciled, and evidenced in a controlled and transparent manner. This includes reconciling loan remittances with loan servicers, validating payments for loan purchases and sales, supporting pre-securitization activity, and helping maintain accurate books and records across the trade lifecycle.
This role is responsible for day-to-day operational support and control execution for the Whole Loan Trading business. The analyst helps protect the integrity of the trade lifecycle by ensuring key economic, loan-level, settlement, funding, and system details are complete, accurate, appropriately approved, and supported by clear documentation. The role requires adherence to policies and procedures, strong four-eye control discipline, timely exception follow-up, and a service-oriented approach to supporting internal and external stakeholders while mitigating operational risk.

What You’ll Do
Support lifecycle management for whole loan trades, including trade capture, booking validation, funding, settlement readiness, servicing, subservicer oversight, reconciliations, exception management, and audit-ready documentation.
Whole Loan Trade Sales:
- Work with the Desk and control partners to verify key economic terms, booking details, funding requirements, purchase and sale information, and settlement instructions, ensuring that cash movement and system records align to approved trade economics.
- Process risk management entries to reconcile and settle all transactions accurately and timely.
- Validate executed purchase agreements, trade confirmations, loan-level details, flow of funds, counterparty readiness, and related records before settlement or downstream handoff.
Daily cash management associated with whole loan trade activity:
- Communicate with the Desk and Treasury Services daily to confirm liquidity requirements, funding timing, settlement expectations, and required approvals.
- Work with internal counterparties to ensure financing, funding reviews, checker approvals, and handoffs for cash release are completed accurately, timely, and with appropriate segregation of duties.
Whole Loan Fundings/Settlement:
- Act as a liaison between the Desk, external clients, operations teams, servicers, custodians, Cash Operations, and other control partners to coordinate settlement readiness and resolve open items.
- Interface with the Desk daily to ensure effective and efficient processes, timely pipeline tracking, accurate settlement status, and proactive mitigation of operational risk.
- Perform pre-settlement checker reviews, validate required approvals, and ensure funding and settlement activity is supported by complete evidence before release or completion.
- Liaise with custodians to ensure the accuracy of inventory/collateral reports.
- Support tactical Summit booking controls and oversee cancellation or cleanup of pending settlement TRS activity where required, ensuring system records remain accurate and appropriately evidenced.
Whole Loan Servicing:
- Act as a liaison between the firm and external clients/vendors to process monthly servicing, remittance, and related post-settlement tasks timely and accurately
- Reconcile and process monthly and interim remittance reports from servicers, investigate breaks or exceptions, and coordinate timely resolution with the appropriate stakeholders
- Work with the Desk and operational partners to maintain data integrity within risk management, workflow, documentation, and reconciliation systems, including WLTS, Kannon, Summit, SharePoint, and related tools
Skills You’ll Need
- Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Proven finance experience; mortgage lending experience is a plus
- Comfort working with mathematics – strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint for tracking, documentation, and coordination
- Clear, professional, and concise communication when navigating challenging discussions to achieve resolution. This also includes the ability to prioritize and manage workload under time constraints
- A risk and compliance mindset, with a commitment to internal control standards, segregation of duties, four-eye review, complete documentation, and audit-ready evidence
- Experience in a similar operations environment(s)
- Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation templates) and familiarity with operational reporting
- Familiarity with trade capture, reconciliation, workflow, or documentation platforms is helpful; experience with tools such as WLTS, Kannon, Summit, SharePoint, or similar control and reconciliation systems is a plus

Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville, FL office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL is $65,000 -$78,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
