What is the Position? Evercore seeks to hire a Junior Associate for its Real Estate Strategic Advisory team in New York. This position is ideal for a first- or second-year Associate (Associate class of 2024/2025) or a Senior Analyst (Analyst class of 2023) with a strong background in real estate finance and project management.

Group Description: Evercore’s Real Estate Strategic Advisory Group (“RESA”) is an integrated real estate platform that provides a broad range of capital and strategic advisory services to real estate sponsors, publicly traded companies and limited partners. RESA also raises capital from institutional investors for a variety of private real estate vehicles, including commingled funds, joint ventures and separate accounts, focused on a wide range of sectors, geographies and risk/return profiles. RESA has extensive, longstanding relationships with over 3,000 institutional investors globally and has successfully advised first-time real estate sponsors on entering the market and existing sponsors on new product offerings and on diversifying their capital base. In addition to raising capital for private real estate vehicles, RESA develops bespoke advisory solutions for real estate sponsors through M&A transactions, portfolio recapitalizations and sales, continuation vehicles, restructurings, etc. With distribution and project management professionals located in seven offices across four continents, RESA is uniquely positioned to fulfill the specialized needs of its clients globally.

Primary Responsibilities: RESA offers qualified candidates exposure to all aspects of the global real estate fund placement and advisory business. An Associate position in RESA provides outstanding experience and unparalleled exposure to its clients and senior professionals. Candidates will be required to manage fundraises, recapitalization/restructuring and/or direct transactions at once. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct due diligence on real estate funds and managers
  • Underwrite real estate portfolios and analyze transaction structures
  • Set strategy for fundraising and transaction execution
  • Create marketing materials including CIMs, OMs, pitchbooks, and investor presentations
  • Facilitate outreach to prospective investors and respond to due diligence requests
  • Liaise with clients and manage communication flow throughout the transaction process
  • Coordinate with senior and junior team members to ensure seamless execution
  • Oversee and guide junior team members in daily execution


Specific Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of relevant real estate experience at a firm such as a private equity manager, investment bank, institutional broker, placement agent, or development company
  • Strong preference for first- or second-year Associates (Associate class of 2024/2025) or Senior Analysts (Analyst class of 2023)
  • Solid grasp of real estate fundamentals and valuation techniques
  • Extensive Excel experience and fluency in building financial models
  • Knowledge of institutional investors and real estate fund managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex ideas clearly
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal


Expected Base Salary Range:
$185,000 - $200,000
