Experienced Senior Associate - Corporate Controller

What is the Position? Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Senior Associate for its Finance team in New York.
Primary Responsibilities: This role will report to the Group Controller - Corporate Functions and serve as an integral part of supporting the Firm’s infrastructure (“Corporate Group”) through financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning to support key business decisions across Evercore’s corporate functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Support the Controller - Corporate Functions to prepare and maintain non-compensation monthly, quarterly, and full-year budgets and forecasts
- Synthesize complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation
- Reconcile third-party vendor usage to verify invoicing accuracy
- Assist in preparation of management presentation materials for quarterly review
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal & Compliance, Finance, and Human Capital Group teams to support key business initiatives
- Conduct monthly analysis of legal expenditures and present findings to leadership
- Consolidate and maintain global corporate headcount reporting
- Lead monthly corporate group accrual process
- Manage monthly non-compensation analysis package and investigate key variances
Accounting Operations:
- Partner with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate invoice processing, coding, and adjustments during month-end close
- Coordinate with the SEC/Accounting Policy team to support filings as needed
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with Finance teams in the U.S. and Europe to meet operational targets and complete ad-hoc projects
Specific Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related role within financial services
- Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Integrity and sound ethical judgment
- Strategic, adaptable mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
Expected Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000
