Group Description: The Financial Institutions Group is responsible for covering a broad range of corporate clients and financial sponsors across Banks and Wealth / Asset Management. The group has a highly successful track-record of advising on many notable transactions across deal types including company sales, acquisitions, mergers-of-equals, private placements, activism & raid defense assignments, joint ventures, among others.
What is the Position? Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Analyst for its Financial Institutions Group within our advisory business in to be based in New York, NY.
Primary Responsibilities: Evercore's unique market position provides its junior bankers with the ability to work closely with senior bankers on differentiated and industry-transforming transactions in markets around the world. The small deal team structure provides junior bankers with an incomparable platform to learn investment banking while assuming very high levels of responsibility early in one’s career. As part of the team, the Analyst will have the opportunity to work primarily on a range of M&A transactions as well as other strategic advisory assignments including: minority investments, special committee assignments, activism & raid defense, recapitalizations, balance sheet restructurings, and capital market advisory, including debt and equity.
Specific Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong and demonstrated interest in investment banking with solid quantitative and analytical skills, as well as the ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients. Knowledge of accounting, valuation, corporate finance, and business strategy is a pre-requisite. Responsibilities for an analyst include managing junior analysts and working on financial and valuation analyses, complex financial and accounting issues, industry and competitive analysis, due diligence, client presentation materials, management and execution of live deal situations, and support of new business development.
- Currently an analyst at another investment bank
- Preferably three or more years of relevant work experience
- Strong grasp of corporate finance, valuation, and financial accounting
- Superior analytical skills and demonstrated excellence in academic coursework
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong work ethic
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, and achievement-oriented character
Expected Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
