This team is based in New York, Dallas, London, Frankfurt and Birmingham and provides legal support to Goldman Sachs’ new and globally expanding Transaction Banking business in Goldman Sachs Bank USA, including its international branches, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE and other affiliates. We work very closely across regions to provide coordinated, aligned and efficient advice to the business.
YOUR IMPACT
This global team currently supports the Transaction Banking (TxB) business from New York, London, Frankfurt, Dallas and Birmingham. We are looking for a UK focused lawyer to help the business grow its cutting-edge product set. We work very closely across the regions to provide coordinated, aligned and efficient advice to the business.
In particular, the team advises TxB on:
- development and launch of new products and services, as well as ongoing business, including providing support for business governance and vendor oversight, helping to develop operational flows, and drafting client agreements
- deposit taking and payment services as well as related regulatory considerations
- global strategy and the implementation of new regulations and regulatory initiatives
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a lawyer to join our team and provide advice to the TxB business. The ideal candidate will be:
- a lawyer qualified to practice in the UK, with at least 2 years working as a qualified lawyer with experience of the banking or payments sector - ideally with experience in payment services regulation and some experience in dealing with cross-border analysis and transactions
- able to adapt to changing circumstances and willing to work in new areas outside of their comfort zone
- a quick learner and a critical thinker able to work in a fast paced environment
- a strong communicator and relationship builder who values teamwork, leadership and excellence, with strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- able to liaise and coordinate with other relevant groups throughout the firm, including compliance, controllers (including regulatory controllers), product, marketing, operations, business and organisational leadership and tax
- highly motivated and adaptable with the ability to work in a diverse organisation
- accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity
