Job Description

Your Role

The Head of Total Rewards will be a key member of the HR executive leadership team. In this role, you will work closely with the firm’s CHRO and other senior leaders, including the Board of Directors, to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and competitive enterprise-wide compensation and benefits strategy. You will provide both strategic and operational leadership of the function, while managing a broader team and bringing thought leadership and an analytical, solutions-oriented approach to broad based, executive and equity compensation and to overall benefits strategy.

You will drive the strategy for developing rewards programs and methods needed to attract and motivate top talent and shape business decisions in all areas relevant to strategic incentives. You will be a technical expert in broad-based, executive compensation, equity, and carried interest compensation, as well as health and wellness and retirement benefits. You must be an influential leader, familiar with the investment management sector, and financial services industry more broadly with a nuanced understanding of the role that rewards strategy plays in the company’s ability to compete for and retain top talent. You will continually evolve the approach to compensation to ensure Invesco is maintaining a competitive advantage and effectively linking pay to performance.


You will be responsible for:

  • Drive hands-on optimization, development and management of the compensation and benefits function globally. This is inclusive of planning, developing, and implementing compensation policies, programs, and procedures while leading the integration of the function across assorted compensation plans.

  • Design and lead administration of global compensation, broad-based, executive and incentive compensation plans. Lead the annual administration process for compensation (base, merit, annual incentive).

  • Anticipate, forecast, and proactively develop policies and programs that ensure pay is tightly linked with performance across the business.

  • Further enhance a compelling and innovative benefits package that meets the needs of Invesco’s employees while reinforcing the brand.

  • Lead research of best practices, monitor global developments, evaluate emerging trends, stay apprised of technological advancements and conduct benchmark comparisons.

  • Advise senior management on design of executive and broad-based compensation design.

  • Advise Compensation Committee, deliver competitive intelligence, and benchmark based on public disclosure to senior management and the Board Compensation Committee.

The experience you bring:

  • Significant leadership experience in total rewards at a company of scale and complexity similar to Invesco.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the strategic, operational and financial components of a global investment management or financial services organization

  • Oversight of all aspects of compensation and benefits, with deep technical acumen in each area of compensation, including executive compensation, benefits and strong familiarity with relevant vendors, recordkeeping systems, and emerging best practices in each area for the attraction and retention of the workforce of the future.

  • Track record of designing and implementing reward strategies and policies that advance the talent management goals of the organization.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an in-depth financial analysis background

  • Prior experience as a compensation or benefits consultant is highly desirable.

  • Ability to influence peers, managers, and employees through relationships rather than authority., and to build trusted relationships across the organization and throughout the system.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization and build consensus and influence positive business outcomes.

  • Experience preparing impactful Board materials is required; experience working directly with the Board is desirable.
