Your role

We are looking for our next Junior Analyst to join our Private Credit team based in London!

In this role you'll analyze senior floating-rate loans originated by financial institutions to corporate and private-equity-backed borrowers, generally with below-investment-grade credit quality. You'll provide portfolio managers with high-level strategic investment-related advice to support investment decisions. Conducts research and prepares reports both internal purposes.


What we are we looking for:

  • Help senior analysts review and prepare credit thesis for new senior loan, second lien, mezzanine and High Yield Bond (fixed and floating) investment opportunities.

  • Credit proposal to include company and industry analysis, capital structure analysis, cash flow projections, evaluation of collateral adequacy, management, lead lender, sponsor quality and view on local restructuring regime.

  • Work towards gaining responsibility for 25-30 senior secure loan/ high yield bond investments.

  • On-going monitoring and review of existing transactions including historical financial analysis, cash flow modeling and projections, industry analysis and assessments and review of internal and external ratings.

  • Recommend buy/sell/hold decisions through identification of relative value opportunities.

  • Periodically participate in management meetings, plant tours and inspections.

  • Review senior secured loan and high yield bond documentation for new transactions and amendments working together with senior analysts and / or Team Leader.

  • Participate in in-depth discussions with Syndicate Desks, Sell side Analysts and Private Equity houses on primary and secondary investment opportunities.

  • Build up a network of contacts within the peer group to help assess market sentiment on amendments and new deals.

  • Maintain existing electronic credit files, compliance reports, collateral positions, and updated exposure reports.

What you can bring:

  • First experience (incl. internships) in Finance is a plus.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.

  • Basic financial modelling and financial statement analysis skills would be a plus.

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.

  • More than one European language preferred.

  • Logical thinker with ability to “join the dots”.

  • Ability to distil key information from wide data set.

  • Aptitude for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling skills.

  • Ability to work independently and follow through on projects

  • Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and quickly complete tasks upon assignment.
