Job Description

Your Role:

This position has primary responsibility of managing the various external and internal financial reporting and operational finance functions of Invesco, including preparation and analysis of Invesco's consolidated financial statements, quarterly press releases, annual 10-K and interim 10-Q reports. This position also manages monthly and ad hoc financial analysis. This position partners with Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Global Business Services and multiple business partners throughout the firm responsible for various financial products and operations of Invesco.

You will be responsible for:

  • Completing various quarterly/annual SEC filing activities including preparation of US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists

  • Managing external press releases and earnings presentations, including collaborating with Investor Relations

  • Developing and maintaining financial models and analyses to support various strategic initiatives and financing strategies

  • Monitoring key performance indicators, highlight trends and analyze variances to support management’s disclosures in SEC filings

  • Managing the preparation and distribution of internal management reports including management reports, Board of Director presentations and other ad-hoc analyses to support senior management decision making

  • Researching technical accounting issues and document application of US GAAP and keeping abreast of industry developments

  • Maintaining SOX documentation for the financial reporting team and ensuring compliance with key SOX controls for the team, including facilitating review by internal and external auditors

  • Developing and managing the financial reporting calendar and managing the reporting projects to ensure reports are prepared accurately and deadlines are met by the financial reporting team.

  • Assisting with preparation of materials for quarterly SEC disclosure review committee meetings

  • Overseeing iXBRL filing compliance

  • Overseeing the reporting of business acquisitions, dispositions, and other corporate transactions

  • Overseeing preparation of the annual impairment reviews of goodwill and other intangibles.

  • Overseeing and reviewing analyses prepared by financial reporting analysts as well as Global Business Services and providing on-the-job development and training to junior team members

The experience you bring:

  • 4+ years accounting or financial reporting experience is required; Public accounting or public company reporting experience is preferred

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting

  • CPA eligibility is required

  • Must have knowledge of SOX compliance requirements

  • Workiva/Oracle/Smartview experience is preferred

  • Ability to prioritize work to meet internal and external reporting timelines.

  • Ability to self-motivate and establish personal deadlines

  • Proactive in identifying reporting issues and developing solutions.

  • Ability to process technical accounting concepts and determine their applicability to the financial reporting process

  • Ability to thrive in an environment of change and be open to new challenges and opportunities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage a variety of audiences, internally and externally

  • Strong grasp of technology and systems. Ability to identify ways to leverage technology with a focus on automation and controls
