Job Description
Your Role
The Principal Governance Analyst, Data Practices and Learning plays a pivotal role in enabling the successful adoption of enterprise data capabilities across one or more business domains (Investments, Corporate Functions, or Distribution). This position ensures data governance practices are consistently applied to promote data reliability, usability, and operational efficiency, while advancing a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Serving as a strategic liaison between data capability teams and business adopters, the analyst bring a strong understanding of the domain knowledge and data governance capabilities to ensure alignment between governance frameworks and their practical application within domains. The role focuses on improving the end-user data quality and experience by guiding the implementation of data policies, standards, and tools across domains. The Principal Governance Analyst is also accountable for monitoring the realization of key data strategy objectives.
This is a critical role for championing scalable, sustainable data practices while equipping cross-functional teams with the knowledge and resources necessary to innovate and deliver value through data.
You will be Responsible For:
Adoption Consistency & Reliability: Ensure that data capabilities are adopted in a consistent, reliable manner across all data domains and product squads.
Building a Learning Culture: Foster a culture of continuous learning within the organization, equipping teams with the knowledge to effectively use and scale data governance initiatives.
Connecting Data Strategy & Governance to Federated Implementation: Act as the bridge between data governance squads that define capabilities and the teams adopting them, ensuring smooth transitions and effective implementation.
Enhancing Data User Experience: Provide an optimal data experience to data product squads, business users, and the broader data community by improving accessibility and usability.
Addressing Adoption Challenges: Identify operational pain points and adoption challenges, implementing process improvements to enhance the adoption journey.
Managing Learning Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive learning materials for all rolled-out data capabilities, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
Accelerating Data Learning & Adoption: Organize initiatives such as Hackathons, hands-on training sessions, and adoption accelerators to drive enthusiasm and engagement in data capability adoption.
Ensuring Business Value: Validate that rolled-out data capabilities are effectively solving business problems and delivering measurable value.
Enhancing End-User Experience: Continuously improve the end-user experience, ensuring that adopted data capabilities are user-friendly and provide maximum impact.
Training Data Product Squads: Develop and deliver training programs to upskill data product squads, ensuring they have the necessary expertise to leverage data capabilities effectively.
Driving Consistency in Practice: Ensure that data product owners and squads are following best practices consistently across domains and aligning with published practice standards.
The Experience You Bring:
Proven experience in data governance, data management, and data practices roles.
Ability to effectively connect data governance frameworks with data capability outcomes.
Strong understanding of assigned domain area (Investments, Corporate Functions, or Distribution).
Experience working with cross-functional teams, data product squads, and business users to enhance data usability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to drive alignment across te

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
Master’s degree, PhD or other advanced degree preferred.
