Job Description
Your Team:
The Enterprise Monitoring Team is responsible for the architecture and administration of our enterprise monitoring systems. We are also responsible for the development and administration of our enterprise monitoring strategy and processes.
Your Role:
We are looking for a Senior Engineer - Infrastructure Stability to manage and optimize our Splunk environment. You will act as a Splunk Administrator, and you will be responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, and support of our Splunk Cloud and Splunk Enterprise deployments, ensuring that they meet performance, reliability, and security standards. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Splunk architecture, data management, and the ability to troubleshoot and enhance the Splunk platforms.
What you will be doing:
Configure, maintain, and optimize our Splunk Cloud / Enterprise infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and availability.
Implement and manage complex and advanced Splunk dashboards with Splunk’s Dashboard Studio
Provide governance for security, front end design, Splunk capabilities, api, etc. for use of Splunk Cloud by users and teams.
Collaborate with various teams to understand data sources and provide guidance on best practices for data ingestion, including the development of optimized data collection and retention strategies.
Monitor the Splunk Cloud and Enterprise environment to proactively identify and address performance issues and security concerns.
Develop and maintain documentation related to the Splunk configuration, procedures, and policies.
Implement and manage security controls, access policies, and user roles within the Splunk Cloud environment.
Troubleshoot issues, investigate problems, and implement solutions related to Splunk performance, data quality, data parsing, and indexing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance and support for utilizing Splunk Cloud to meet their needs.
Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and maintenance to keep the Splunk Cloud environment current and secure.
Stay informed about industry best practices and advancements in Splunk Cloud technology to recommend and implement improvements.
What you will bring:
7 + years IT experience and 3+ years of experience in Splunk 8 or higher administering, designing dashboards, saved reports, and performance tuning.
Experience implementing and managing Splunk Edge Processor solutions, utilizing SPL2 for advanced data transformation and efficient edge data processing.
Deploy, configure, and manage Splunk environments in AWS, leveraging cloud best practices for scalability, security, and automation
In-depth knowledge of Splunk architecture, including data collection, search, and reporting components.
Proficiency in Splunk search language (SPL) for querying and analyzing data in the cloud environment.
Understanding of cloud security practices and experience implementing security controls within Splunk.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and customization.
Certification in Splunk (Splunk Certified Admin or Splunk Certified Architect) is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
