About the Department/ Team:
The Cloud Engineering team's mission is to create efficient cloud platforms to enhance developer productivity, security, cost-effectiveness and innovation. The team builds a foundation of self-service tools, services, knowledge and support which are arranged as a compelling internal product to enable developers to deliver value more quickly, securely and reliably.
About the Role:
The Senior Principal Cloud & Solutions Engineer is a technical leader and subject matter expert responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions. This role is pivotal in influencing cloud engineering practices across the organization, with a deep expertise in AWS.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Engineer and lead the development of a secure, scalable cloud foundation
- Help drive the vision and roadmap to build a foundation of self-service cloud platforms with a focus on Developer Experience
- Define reusable cloud patterns, templates, and accelerators to streamline adoption
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines to enable automated provisioning and self-service capabilities
- Define and enforce engineering standards, developing policy as code to shift left
- Act as a strategic advisor to application teams, ensuring cloud solutions are compliant, resilient, and cost-effective
- Influence cloud adoption and modernization efforts across the enterprise, including legacy-to-cloud-native transformations
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex cloud and infrastructure challenges that have a broad impact on the business
- Evangelize cloud best practices and educate teams on cloud-native principles
Requirements of the Role:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure and cloud engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including deep expertise in EKS, EC2, Lambda, IAM, S3, API Gateway.
- Proven leadership in designing and implementing global cloud solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform, CI/CD tools (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines), and Python scripting.
- Experience guiding cloud-native transformations and modernizing legacy applications.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that highlight the strategic value of technology initiatives; able to engage and influence diverse technical and business stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of Agile and DevOps operating models.
