About the Role:
The Senior Director, FP&A – Private Markets will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial oversight and direction for Invesco’s Private Markets business. Invesco’s Private Markets platform offers a comprehensive suite of investment capabilities across real estate, private credit, CLOs, and other alternative asset classes, serving a diverse global client base. Invesco manages over $125 billion in private markets assets under management (AUM), leveraging deep sector expertise, global reach, and a commitment to innovation to deliver differentiated investment solutions.
Reporting to the CFO, Americas and EMEA, this executive will lead the Private Markets FP&A function, driving best-in-class financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support profitable growth, operational excellence, and informed decision-making. The role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in alternative asset management, exceptional analytical acumen, and a proven ability to influence at the highest levels of the organization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting Invesco’s continued expansion and leadership in the private markets space, ensuring the financial infrastructure and insights are in place to capitalize on emerging opportunities and deliver value to clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and executive oversight for all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities related to Private Markets business units and firm capital invested in underlying funds. Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute the financial strategy for the platform.
Team Leadership & Talent Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and champion professional growth and succession planning.
Executive Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain trusted advisory relationships with business unit leaders, portfolio managers, fund operations, and corporate executives. Serve as a strategic partner to drive financial discipline, optimize resource allocation, and support key business initiatives.
Advanced Financial Modeling & Decision Support: Oversee the design and enhancement of sophisticated financial models for long-range planning, scenario analysis, new product launches, and profitability assessments. Ensure models are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Management Reporting & Insights: Direct the preparation and delivery of comprehensive financial performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive management, board members, and other key stakeholders. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
Operational Excellence: Continuously evaluate and enhance FP&A processes, systems, and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Champion the adoption of best practices and emerging technologies.
Requirements of the Role:
Private Markets Expertise: 15+ years of progressive experience with a strong track record in private markets finance, fund accounting, or operations, including real estate, private credit, private equity, or other alternative asset classes. Deep understanding of private markets, alternative investments, and the financial services industry, with hands-on experience in the operational and financial intricacies of the asset class.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred; MBA, CFA, or CPA strongly preferred
Executive Leadership: Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams in a dynamic, matrixed, and global environment.
Analytical & Strategic Acumen: Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
Business Partnership: Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with C-suite executives, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis; expertise with Oracle and Hyperion Superior skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Communication Excellence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Project & Change Management: Experience leading large-scale projects and driving organizational change in a fast-paced environment
