About the Department/Team:
The Investment & Distribution Services team is responsible for all Global Investment Services Technology projects and programs across the globe. The team is closely partnered with many business executives and functional teams across all aspects of Invesco's IDS business, using Agile delivery methods and collaboration to provide automated and innovative solutions.
About the Role:
As an agile project manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value. The agile project manager is also responsible for managing several concurrent IT projects using agile and/or waterfall methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions. This position may play different roles in actual practice:
Leading and managing large, complex enterprise-level projects consisting of cross-regional IT teams and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the scope of the IT team
At a team level, playing a consultative role to help put in place the appropriate people, process, and tools and coaching members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team
In situations that require a hybrid Agile approach, using good judgment and skill to develop a project management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort to achieve the project goals within designated project constraints
In performing these roles, the agile project manager will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Agile Pipeline and Scrum Management
Schedule and facilitate all Scrum events
Assist team members with the creation and tracking of Features, Epics, and User stories
Collaborate with Product Owner and business partners to gather new requirements and features
Work with vendors and third-party business partners to ensure alignment on capability, perform required upgrades, and system integration when required
Work with product owners and product managers to ensure backlogs are prioritized and ready for the next sprint
Facilitate technical discussions with Architects and Developers to resolve technical challenges the team encounters
Acts as safeguard for the team by improving transparency and removing impediments
Ensure escalation of unresolved issues to proper personnel
Planning and execution of changes, incidents, production processes, controls, and service requests
Project Planning and Management
Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings
Prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
Team Management – Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work
Requirements for the Role:
Experience leading large technology projects required
Experience working in an agile scrum environment required
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) required
Knowledge of Agile and Scrum framework required
Experience working with remote teams
Experience with workflow and automation tools like Appian and Blue Prism preferred
Experience within the investments industry preferred
Experience creating detailed cost / benefit analysis preferred
Experience with Python, Java script preferred
Experience with SQL Server preferred
Technology literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, including Visio and Office
Knowledge of process documentation and testing tools
Experience with business intelligence reporting tools preferred (PowerBI, Tableau)
Broad basic knowledge of the systems and business processes in use for the Front-, Mid-, and Back-office functions within Investment Operations
Understanding of Investments data and market data supporting investment processes.
A basic understanding of Equity, Fixed Income and basic Derivative instruments used the financial services preferred.
