The Macquarie Asset Management public markets EMEA legal team is an integral part of our public markets operations, working closely with distribution, fund operations, and investment management teams across offices in London, Luxembourg, and Vienna. Our team supports a range of strategies within multi-asset, equities, and fixed income asset classes, ensuring our operations are compliant, efficient, and aligned with our business goals.

What role will you play?

In this highly visible role, you will be instrumental in advising on the creation, development, and ongoing management of separately managed accounts and the negotiation of investment management agreements. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating distribution agreements, sponsorship and event agreements, and providing advice on marketing materials and distribution regulations in accordance with Markets in Financial Instruments Directive rules across the EMEA region. Furthermore, you will play a key role in enhancing our legal team's knowledge management framework, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of legal and regulatory compliance.

What you offer

  • 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience, with a demonstrated ability to apply technical legal expertise in a commercially astute manner.
  • Experience in private practice and/or in-house legal roles within asset management, with a strong foundation in legal aspects of cross-border transactions and global jurisdictions.
  • The ability to simplify complex regulatory and legal issues into actionable advice, demonstrating a clear understanding of the intricacies involved.
  • A track record of working effectively across multiple global jurisdictions, showing an ability to navigate the complexities of international legal frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capability to work collaboratively within a team and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
