Join our expanding Energy Market Access business in a sales position, focused on European Gas and Power, based in our London office. The Energy Markets Access (EMA) business is a ring-fenced business within CMF European Gas & Power. We offer clients a flexible market access solution that allows them to directly leverage Macquarie’s liquidity in physical, financial, OTC and cleared markets. The business is a material contributor to Macquarie’s EU Gas, Power & Carbon client franchise and we have significant product development and pipeline opportunities in 2025 and beyond which necessitates adding another member to the team.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for liaising directly with clients and prospective clients of the bank, to discuss their energy related exposures and trading positions, and how Macquarie’s Energy Market Access (EMA) desk may be able to help them risk manage and finance their exposures.
You will be working on providing credit and capital into the energy value chain through access to market or financing structures, as well as working on both “flow” sales and origination/structuring of more complex transactions.

What you offer

  • 5 years + Experience in either gas or liquified natural gas markets ideally in sales/origination
  • Experience with capacity and asset optimisation in Gas/LNG (i.e. storage/transport/swing/LNG flex)
  • Understanding of deal lifecycle (onboarding, documentation, execution, and post trade requirements)
  • Understanding of counterparty credit and legal documentation
  • European language skills is helpful but not essential
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities, market trends, and finding risk management and trading solutions for clients
