The Risk Management Group at Macquarie is responsible for identifying, assessing and managing risks across a range of trading businesses in the EMEA region. Our team provides oversight and guidance to ensure that credit risks are managed effectively, supporting business growth whilst maintaining robust risk controls. We work closely with front office teams and senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and maintain the integrity of our risk framework. Collaboration and clear communication are central to our approach, enabling us to deliver timely and insightful risk analysis.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our advertised location.

What role will you play?

As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will assess and analyse a diverse range of counterparties, including hedge funds, financial institutions, corporates and brokers, with a particular focus on foreign exchange and equities trading within our Commodities and Global Markets division. You will play a key role in supporting transactions early in the deal process, identifying key issues and co-ordinating the credit response. Your responsibilities will include presenting complex structures clearly, making recommendations to senior risk management staff and engaging with stakeholders across the business. You will also contribute to the negotiation of legal documentation and trading terms, respond to new trading requests, and conduct regular reviews of credit limits and counterparties.

What you offer

  • 1–2 years of experience in credit risk analysis or a related field
  • Strong data analytics skills with the ability to interpret and present information clearly
  • Experience assessing a variety of counterparties, including non-bank financial institutions
  • Good working knowledge of credit analysis and financial instruments
  • Effective communication skills for managing relationships with senior stakeholders and participating in client meetings
  • Strong organisational skills with a track record of meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Understanding of derivatives and prior experience in financial markets.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks.
