What role will you play?

You will advise clients on acquisitions, mergers, business sales and capital raisings, as well as be responsible for creating, implementing and reviewing complex financial models, understanding key business drivers, and determining profitability. You will assist in coordinating transaction workstreams across mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings, and you will develop presentations, information memorandums, and investment committee/board papers for clients. Where applicable, you will play a key role in supporting the origination and execution of ECM transactions across Asia, including IPOs, follow‑on offerings, block trades, rights issues, and equity‑linked products.

In addition, you will collaborate closely with senior bankers and cross‑functional teams and frequently partner with colleagues in our team's key offices across Singapore, Australia, South Africa and Canada in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment that values precision, creativity, and teamwork.

What you offer

  • 3+ years’ of experience in an investment bank or boutique with M&A or ECM advisory experience
  • Experience in the natural resources sector, or ideally in adjacent industries (infrastructure, industrials etc.)
  • Excellent financial modelling capabilities, gained through valuation, forecasting or scenario analysis, with the ability to build models from scratch e.g. DCF, LBO, merger models, etc
  • Strong understanding of financial statements
  • Strong communication skills, enabling you to present key insights to senior stakeholders
  • Team player approach and able to excel in a fast paced and challenging work environment
  • High energy level with the desire to contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of the Critical Minerals and Energy Group at Macquarie
  • Native fluency in Mandarin and professional‑level proficiency in English.
