The Structured Credit and Securitisation team forms part of the Fixed Income and Currencies division within Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets Group. The team is focused on delivering innovative solutions across structured credit products, supporting Macquarie Bank Europe’s growth in continental Europe. We operate in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively to originate, analyse, and manage investments that contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of our business. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team for a duration of 6 months.

What role will you play?

As an off-cycle intern, you will gain experience first-hand in the analysis of investment ideas across the structured lending space, covering sponsors and originators throughout continental Europe. Your responsibilities could include conducting in-depth due diligence, asset analysis, and modelling to refine investment theses and forecast asset performance, as well as supporting the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of investments and supporting the team in preparing and presenting investment materials and transaction documentation for both internal and external stakeholders. You will sit side by side experienced colleagues who will support you as you learn and build new skills.

What you offer

  • You are a current student or recent graduate, with a strong academic background, ideally within a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Maths, Physics, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to self-direct, evaluate, and form independent judgments.
  • Ability to achieve greater operating efficiency through effective use of AI tools, with proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with financial modelling or programming tools (e.g., Python, VBA) is desirable.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce consistently high-quality deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build relationships across various stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French and English is essential, with other European languages considered advantageous for cross-border transactions.
