Our commodities strategy team is looking for an experienced precious metals analyst to join our team. The team is active across the globe and covers a variety of commodities from Bulks and Base to Precious and PGMs as well as Ferrous, Oil, Gas, LNG and Carbon. We leverage fundamental, quantitative and technical analysis whilst collaborating with our sales and trading teams to get the best insights. The team has a global presence and coverage but we expect this role to be located in London.

What role will you play?

As part of a dynamic team within Macquarie’s global commodities business, you will proactively identify trends and thematics in the precious metals and PGM markets, interpret news—especially macro and economic factors—events, company announcements with respect to their impact on the market and actively communicating with traders, sales, and clients. To establish fundamental views you will be building and maintaining supply and demand models and cost curves. You will publish reports on the market and contribute to the broader team with the potential to cover additional commodities or markets.

What you offer

• Minimum 5 year of analytical or similar experience
• Deep understanding of physical and financial precious and PGM markets
• Strong entrepreneurial drive and ability identify opportunities independently
• Demonstrated success in high-pressure trading/sales environments and a collaborative team setting.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; established network in the market.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Technically skilled in Excel, Bloomberg, and/or Reuters; programming skills and publishing skills are desirable.
