What role will you play?

As a Data Engineering Manager, your role will be pivotal in shaping the reliability of our data platform and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. As well as technology ownership, you will own the growth and development of an engineering team that meets the needs of the business and works well within the overall system architecture. You will drive execution by leading sprint planning, managing team priorities and removing obstacles to ensure timely high-quality engineering deliverables. You’ll set high standards for code quality and operational readiness, collaborate closely with both technical and business stakeholders, and take ownership of your team’s outcomes. Utilising your technical expertise, you will ensure the platform's architecture remains scalable, resilient and compliant with relevant technology standards.
Your role includes shaping the technical roadmap and serving as the technical escalation point to guide your team through challenging production incidents and debugging issues. Your AI-first mindset will be essential to increasing your efficiency, proactively automating processes and continuously challenging legacy practices.

What you offer

  • Ability to work as part of a team with proven success at delivering complex data engineering initiatives
  • 5+ years of professional data engineering/analytics experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a formal or informal leadership role in an engineering team
  • High proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as SQL or Python
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about technical and business challenges
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
