In our global Internal Audit team based in Sydney and play an integral role in delivering our Model, Data and AI Risk audit approach across all of Macquarie.

What role will you play?

As the analytical engine within the Model, Data and AI Audit team, you will conduct audit testing across all dimensions of data risk, including data quality, data sovereignty, privacy, and records retention. You will also perform reviews of both traditional and AI models, covering all stages of the model lifecycle across Macquarie. You will play a key role in uplifting the model risk internal audit strategy and capability. by strengthening our audit testing techniques used to assess the effectiveness of risk management controls. You will be responsible for performing deep dives into model and data risk controls, identifying control weaknesses, sharing insights and recommendations for improvement, and supporting the team in preparing high‑quality audit reports for Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee.
Through these reviews, you will gain exposure to a wide range of data infrastructure, business processes, and model types, including Treasury, Market Risk, Credit Risk, and AI and machine learning models. No two projects will be the same.

  • Experience in data analytics and data science techniques, using PowerBI and Alteryx, including the use of machine learning and AI techniques (including Natural Language Processing) to perform testing and monitoring over structured and unstructured data, as well as model outputs.
  • Innovative thinking, with the ability to develop and expand the analytical toolset and identify improved ways to analyse and test data risk, model risk, and AI‑related controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues to senior management.
  • A strong team player who delivers on team priorities and is willing to support others and share knowledge.
