Our Operational Risk team provides independent oversight of non-financial risks across the Group, with a focus on technology, data and resilience. We work closely with business, data and technology teams to ensure risks are identified, assessed and managed effectively, strengthening controls across critical information and systems.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing oversight of records management across the Group, ensuring the framework remains risk-based, effective and aligned with regulatory expectations. You will bring together insights from across the organisation to present a clear view of emerging risks, control effectiveness and priority areas, enabling informed decision-making at a senior level. Working at an enterprise-wide level, you will guide the development of policies and standards, provide independent challenge, and support consistent application of records management practices. You will also contribute to risk reporting, stakeholder engagement and ongoing improvements, helping to strengthen the organisation’s overall risk management approach.

What you offer

  • Proven experience in records management, data governance, operational risk or compliance within financial services or another regulated industry
  • A strong understanding of risk frameworks, control design and oversight, with the ability to assess effectiveness and identify broader risk themes
  • The ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, scalable and risk-based outcomes (e.g. CPS 234, CPS 230)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights and support enterprise-wide decision-making.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
