As part of the Firm’s growing program of work, the Global Centers and Workforce Strategy team is seeking a WFS Analysis Lead to support all aspects of portfolio of work across GC and Workforce strategy initiatives, including preparation of business analysis, business cases, assessments and senior leader presentations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support high-priority initiatives in the fast-paced Integrated Firm Management Workforce Strategy team, through independent efforts, thoughtful interactions with the group and senior executives.
  • Prepare persuasive, data-driven and qualitative presentations to enable senior leaders to make decisions, stay informed on issues and move key initiatives forward, with quick turnarounds and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Track projects from ideation through progress to completion, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and discretion, and the ability to influence and persuade others to collaborate.
  • Drive analysis and feasibility studies for potential projects aimed at assessing footprint fragmentation and workforce optimization opportunities across all MS BUs and locations.
  • Help develop demand plans by BU, sub-BU and across global locations.
  • Interact with the business, and key partners in Finance, Global Centers leadership, HCM, Real Estate and other key constituents to collect necessary data and perform business analysis of current and future state solutions, cost-benefit assessments, and to create implementation roadmaps.
  • Coordinate and prepare materials for key leadership presentations, strategic assessments and GC governance forums such as working groups, strategy reviews and steering committees.
  • Assist in the development of implementation strategies and execution plans related to key GC and workforce initiatives supporting WFS leads in the planning and execution of their project portfolios, milestone identification and key deliverables.
  • Work with global / regional counterparts to provide synergies between regions and ensure the compliance with global best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years professional experience, preferably at a major financial institution or management consulting firm, with demonstrated business analytics and/or strategy background and understanding.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably within a corporate strategy or business function, with background in workforce strategy, finance, operations, technology or real estate.
  • Overall experience in hands-on business analysis, strategic initiative management is essential, and preferably supporting financial services businesses.
  • Strong communication skills – the candidate must demonstrate the ability to liaise confidently with both internal and external business stakeholders, as well as possessing excellent customer service expertise.
  • Ability to distil complex issues into manageable content for senior leader consumption and discussion.
  • Strong business management mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, to lead critical projects.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with senior management, and multitude of constituents across partner organizations.
  • Proven ability to work proactively, creatively & analytically in a fast-paced, and complex environment.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects, able to work within a global team, and manage time and tasks effectively & independently.

Technical Skills Requirements

  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint (Advanced) - financial modeling, scenario planning, pivot tables, macros/VBA
  • Power BI/ Tableau – dashboards, KPI Tracking, trend visualization, etc.
  • SQL (intermediate) – Querying datasets from internal databases or data lakes

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
