Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) enables Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

You will collaborate with colleagues across FRM and the Firm to protect the Firm's capital base and franchise, advise businesses and clients on risk mitigating strategies, develop tools and methodologies to analyze and monitor risk, contribute to key regulatory initiatives and report on risk exposures and metrics to enable informed and strategic decision-making. Background on the Position
Fixed Income Secured Lending (FSL) team in Credit Risk is looking to hire an experienced real estate collateral manager to monitor collateral performance and valuations of portfolios comprised of real estate asset backed loans. The primary responsibility for this individual is to design, build, and lead a global FSL team to conduct i) valuation due diligence on real estate loans pledged as collateral to secure revolving and portfolio financing transactions and ii) prepare market trend reports to monitor concentrations in the portfolio with the ultimate aim of highlighting potential collateral valuation and performance risks and recommend appropriate courses of action related to obtaining third party valuations.
The underlying properties securing the collateral loans may be commercial real estate (all property types), data centers and residential real estate globally.

Responsibilities include:
- Manage a collateral loan portfolio consisting of several hundred loans, primarily secured by real estate
- Ensure compliance of the collateral loan appraisal with applicable regulation and market standards (ie Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), FIRREA, or relevant international standards) as well as internal policies;
- Determine if market values have become challenged and make recommendations regarding updating valuations for underlying properties;
- Develop processes and procedures to create efficiencies and improvements to monitor market activity;
- Assist the Global Head of Real Estate Valuation and Analysis in management of external vendors Skills Required
- 2-4+ years of real estate loan asset management or risk management experience across all commercial real estate, data centers and residential real estate
- Experience with valuations and markets in the US
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time-management skills
- MAI - AI-GRS - RICS certifications preferred
- Experience/knowledge of Western European and Asian (specifically Australia) markets is beneficial but not required

Job Posting Pay Range

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
