Divisional Overview
Wealth Management Technology (WMT) is responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical platform behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Business.
Practice Area Group
Investment Solution Technology provides technology solutions for WMT branch management, financial advisors and their clients including but not limited to the Trading Systems, Field Reporting and Compensation. The IST Technology Suite includes Trades Order Entry, Morgan Stanley Online, and Field Management Technology. IST supports the entire technology platform, providing and implementing solutions surrounding: design for usability, build for performance, and general strategic platform architecting.

The FA Compensation lead candidate would play a critical role on the team with the following responsibilities:
Understanding business needs and converting them into technical specifications
Leading a new team to build the application
Communication with Senior Management
Developing and designing Java batch processes
Coordinating with offshore leads to ensure all deadlines are met
Working with the team as a process-oriented lead and adhering to the organization’s product development standards
Advising on Design for Optimized Data Access
Working with other development groups to understand/gain access to the new Field Desktop
Primary Skills / Must have
Strong knowledge in object-oriented programming concepts and design
Good understanding and experience in Java and JavaScript technologies
Interactive filtering via visualization
Strong data analysis and data quality assessment skills
Excellent communication and written skills and willingness to work across time zones
Client-side JavaScript technologies including AngularJS and JQuery
SQL skills and a thorough understanding of database constructs
Strong understanding of SDLC and proven track record of operational efficiency
Understanding of agentic AI concepts such as planning, memory, tool use, and autonomy (experience with frameworks like LangChain, AutoGPT, OpenAI Functions, etc., is a plus).
Familiarity with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation of LLMs or generative models.
Critical thinker and problem solver who has a strong base in web technologies and design concepts.
5-7 years of experience in development
Experience with performance testing and improvement
Ability to develop and follow change management processes for consistent and maintainable versions
Secondary Skills / Desired skills
Exposure to the financial services industry
Hands-on experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, PaLM), transformers, and/or generative models

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
