Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and guides technology strategy and creates bespoke solutions that drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. Our clients include:

Institutional Securities Group (ISG) Architecture Governance is responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing Technology Architecture principles, standards, patterns, and governance that inform the development and engineering of the ISG Technology platform in support of the ISG business.
Position Description
We are seeking a passionate Enterprise Architect to drive strategic architectural vision and alignment across key stakeholders, and define and govern architecture standards, principles, best practices, and patterns for divisional adoption.

They should possess strong leadership skills and be adept at resolving issues and managing interdependencies across organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create target state vision and business architecture strategies; facilitate execution of IT delivery roadmap in line with business goals
- Lead or influence cross-domain solution architectures, articulating impacts on applications, data, and technology
- Identify opportunities for modernization, convergence, and optimization of the current portfolio; provide technology options to bridge gaps in target state
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, platform architects, and product strategy leaders to develop domain roadmaps
- Stay current with trends and innovations in Finance and IT, recommending appropriate developments
- Define and promote a risk control culture while delivering architectural and technological vision
- Monitor external regulations and internal policies impacting Architecture Practices
- Manage engagement with internal partners (Cloud, DevOps, Architecture teams, Data, etc.)
- Act as project 'auditor' to ensure conformance to architecture guardrails and policies
- Provide architectural leadership in resolving inter-program issues and fostering convergence opportunities
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a general Enterprise Architect in large development organizations
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture models such as TOGAF and experience operating and governing architecture processes
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing technology solutions
- Experience designing and building cloud-native applications; familiarity with cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS)
- Good Knowledge of Generative Artificial Intelligence capabilities
- Good Knowledge in container strategies (Kubernetes, EC2, Docker)
- knowledge of coding languages and frameworks (Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, Angular, React)
- Experience with relational databases and distributed storage technologies (e.g., MongoDB)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working with global teams across time zones and countries
- Proven ability to influence software architecture designs
- Understanding of architectural design patterns (Event Driven Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, Domain Driven Design, Layered Design)
- Outstanding relationship management, teamwork, and communication skills; able to operate at senior levels in written and verbal communications

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
