Morgan Stanley Private Banking Group, Deposit Strats team is seeking candidates with strong financial quantitative skills and expertise in data analytics. Desk Strategists (Strats) are responsible for data analysis and the development and implementation of statistical based models covering bank deposits program. We have an opening for a qualified individual to join our fast-paced work environment.

The position is within the Private Banking Group Deposit team, responsible for building quantitative models for generating nightly risk analytics, risk reporting and generating analysis to support value added bank deposit pricing strategies. Building the next generation model development platform by using latest cloud and AI based solutions. The team develops data analytics, product valuation models, as well as risk and valuation tools used by various internal groups to better understand risk and to better identify market opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working within the PBG Strats Bank Deposit team in the development, implementation, and enhancement of data analysis.

  • Streamline model development and data analytics using AI and Cloud based solutions.

  • Build deposit models by leveraging account level data, AI, LLM, Snowflakes, and Databricks.

  • Analyze deposit balance behavior based on clients’ demographics and market dynamics.

  • Ensure data integrity through data quality, validation, governance, and transparency.

  • Production deployment and model monitoring to ensure stable performance and adherence to standard.

  • Production support, maintenance as well as risk analysis.

Skills required:

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computational Finance or Mathematical Finance, Engineering or other computational sciences is strongly preferred.

  • Strong hands-on technology skills are a core requirement (e.g., Dataiku, Hadoop/PySpark, SQL, Python/NumPy/Pandas, and R statistical language), Snowflake, Databricks.

  • Experience in performing data analysis and summarizing data.

  • Strong communication & collaboration skills are required.

  • At least 5 years work experience in a financial quantitative field.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
