Position Description

We are seeking someone to join our technology team supporting Morgan Stanley’s Investment Management (MSIM) Finance Organization. MSIM strives to provide outstanding long-term investment performance, service, and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations, and individuals worldwide.

We are responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical platforms that support MSIM Finance. This includes billing support, financial close support, investment tracking, AUM & flows reporting, financial reporting & analytics and all other development work that support their long term goals and needs.

You will be instrumental in shaping the direction of projects, ensuring that we meet our goals and deliver exceptional results. What You will do in the rôle :

  • As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable around front-end, middle tier and back-end development, third-party libraries and frameworks.
  • As a member of a finance tech development squad, your tasks will include the design, develop & maintain innovative, reliable distributed data-intensive transactional systems & financial applications using technology architectures such Java, Python, Angular, Snowflake and other relevant technologies.
  • Lead the design, implementation and support of one or more applications that play vital roles in supporting MSIM’s financial processes.
  • Design and implement user-friendly interfaces (UIs) and intuitive user experiences (UX) on the frontend.
  • Build and manage APIs, server-side logic, and database schemas on the backend.
  • Engineer and maintain robust data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for business intelligence and AI applications.
  • Collaborate with analytics and data science teams to structure and deliver clean, reliable data sources supporting key business initiatives and potential machine learning models
  • Ensure the performance, security, and integrity of all applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality code standards.

What You will bring to the role

  • At least 5 years' relevant experience as a Full Stack Developer
  • Experience working with some of our main technologies: Java/Spring stack, Scala, Angular, Python, Cloud computing, Relational Databases and Data warehousing, Caching, Messaging and Streaming, DevOps, Test Automation
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple functions and initiatives
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to grasp complexities and relationship between issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate across a variety of audiences and levels
  • Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to self-start and run with a challenge are success indicators for this role
