Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”) is the global private real estate investment management business of Morgan Stanley. North Haven Net REIT (“NetREIT”) is MSREI’s first public non-traded REIT product and a leading offering in MSIM’s range of evergreen alternative products. NetREIT’s strategy is to invest in a diversified portfolio of single-tenant commercial real estate properties net leased on a long-term basis to credit-worthy tenants with the objective of providing attractive current income through tax-advantaged distributions and capital appreciation. Since inception in April 2024, NetREIT has ramped an investment portfolio in excess of $2 billion and raised over $1 billion of third-party capital from over 5,000 shareholders. NetREIT conducts continuous private offerings through wire-house and RIA channels and operates as a public company registered under the ‘34 Act subject to Sarbanes-Oxley 404(a) and annual PCAOB external audit.

Position Description:

As a member of the NetREIT finance team, the individual’s role will be integral to the finance, operations and reporting functions of Net REIT. The position involves working closely with NetREIT's asset management and finance teams as well as with its independent auditors, outside counsel, tax advisor, fund administrator, transfer agent and other vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and review monthly closing of NAV books and financial reporting deliverables with fund administrator
  • Oversee property managers’ monthly reconciliation of property level-accounting
  • Prepare quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnotes and coordinate with independent auditors in quarterly review and annual audit process
  • Prepare various SEC filings including Form 10-K/Q filings
  • Support tax advisor and internal tax team analysis of investment and REIT level matters
  • Operate treasury function in coordination with fund administrator, transfer agent and lenders
  • Perform compliance analytics for financial covenants as well as for tax, REIT and Investment Company Act of 1940 compliance

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required, CPA or CPA candidate preferred; Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public or private accounting
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate and market value accounting preferred
  • Strong accounting, analytical and data management/aggregation skills
  • PC proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, is required; Yardi and Oracle Financials general ledger experience is a plus
  • Ability to work within a team and under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Availability for minimum four-day per week in office position at 1585 Broadway

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $115,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
