The Employee will be a member of NB Private Market’s Secondaries Team, which manages c. $19 billion of investor commitments across private equity, real estate and other secondaries strategies, and will be primarily dedicated to the group’s real estate secondary investing activities. The position provides an opportunity to join a small but expanding team as part of a well-established investment management platform. The Employee will work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment offering significant individual responsibility and room for advancement.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in sourcing and screening potential real estate secondary investment opportunities globally, with a focus on Europe and Asia
  • Performing in-depth valuation analysis of real estate assets and real estate private equity portfolios
  • Conducting due diligence on a wide range of opportunities
  • Leading the preparation of underwriting models, due diligence materials and detailed investment committee memos
  • Assisting in transaction negotiation, structuring and execution
  • Monitoring investments through regular interaction with fund sponsors and partners and attendance at annual meetings of real estate private equity funds
  • Working on special projects, including assisting in capital raising, portfolio management and communications with investors


Qualified candidates will have:

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience with a top-tier real estate private equity firm, real estate lender or real estate investment banking program
  • Demonstrated investment experience across a range of property types, geographies and strategies
  • Established network of real estate industry contacts and relationships
  • Fluency in other European language(s) in addition to English a plus
  • Excellent underwriting and valuation skills
  • Proven proficiency across a variety of key business disciplines including corporate finance, capital markets, accounting and financial modelling
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills; knowledge of lease-by-lease software (e.g. Argus) a plus
  • Ability to work independently and to show initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving
  • Ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form
  • Ability to multi-task with a fine-tuned attention to detail
  • Team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects
