Position Overview
The role provides an opportunity to work within a sales / client coverage team, supporting senior relationship managers’ business development and client servicing activities. Whilst predominantly supporting the UK client coverage team, this position will provide exposure to the European insurance & general institutional client coverage teams – serving as an opportunity to understand the differences across insurer types, and geographies.
The UK insurance solutions team is responsible for building the firms’ insurance client business in the UK, through identifying prospects and representing the firms’ investment capabilities, in addition to managing existing insurance client relationships on a day-to-day basis. Developing strong relationships with both insurance companies as well as internally within the organisation is key to the team.
Note that this is a 2-month internship, with no guarantee of a full-time role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supporting the UK insurance client coverage teams in their day-to-day client activity and strategic initiatives; further ad-hoc support to the Head of EMEA Insurance Solutions will also be required.
- Liaising and collaborating with colleagues in Portfolio Management, Client Service, Marketing and Compliance teams for client deliverables.
- Organising prospective client related activity, including but not limited to client presentations and request for proposals. Ensure all activity follows the regulatory framework.
- Conducting market research and assist the team on appropriate business strategies and client analysis.
- Providing essential administrative support to the Client Coverage team including database management, maintaining the CRM system, producing pipeline activity and meeting notes, to help enhance the overall sales processes.
- Organising and proactively support client events and marketing collateral efforts.
Qualifications
- Working towards an undergraduate degree or recently graduated – reading finance / economics, or a related subject.
Key Requirements
- A strong interest in asset management, financial services, and financial markets.
- Numerate, with a good working knowledge of both Excel & PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail is critical, along with the ability to communicate effectively.
