Role Summary:
The Senior Project Manager – Alternatives Business Enablement and Operations will drive operational strategy and execution for Neuberger Berman’s rapidly growing Alternatives platform. This role requires a leader who is deeply analytical, skilled at deconstructing and optimizing complex processes, and experienced in building scalable business operations within alternatives investments. The SVP will partner cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class client and internal experiences, ensuring seamless execution and risk-aware operational excellence
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, documentation, and ongoing refinement of end-to-end operations workflows for alternatives, including private equity, private debt, real assets, and hedge fund strategies
- Analyze, decompose, and optimize complex operational processes, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and enhanced controls
- Translate business requirements into actionable process and technology solutions; develop business cases and partner with Technology and Data teams on execution
- Serve as a key point of contact for operating partners, fund administrators, custodians, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and accountability
- Oversee and mentor a high-performing team, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive transparency and continuous improvement in operational delivery
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Product, and other control groups to ensure robust operational risk management and regulatory adherence
- Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives (e.g., new product launches, onboarding, system enhancements) that expand the capabilities of the alternatives business
- Foster a culture of client-centricity, operational rigor, innovation, and process excellence
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments impacting alternatives operations and client experience
Qualifications:
- 12+ years in alternatives operations, business enablement, or investment operations in asset management, private markets, or related fields
- Demonstrated expertise in process mapping, workflow documentation, and operational risk management
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills; ability to break down complex scenarios, synthesize information, and drive solutions
- Proven leadership and team-building experience, including managing cross-functional projects and direct reports
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma) preferred

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $180,000-$220,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
