Wealth Advisor Associate - Vice President
Neuberger Berman Group
Position Overview:
NB Private Wealth is Neuberger Berman’s direct-to-client wealth and investment management business. Managing $70b+ in client assets across 40+ seasoned wealth and investment teams, with access to a deep breadth of customized investment solutions, the platform is truly unique in the industry.
We are a high-performing private wealth team managing over $2B in client assets, dedicated to serving high net worth families with a comprehensive, relationship-driven approach. We are seeking an experienced support professional with 5–8 years of private wealth experience who brings a strong foundation in client service and operational execution, combined with growing capabilities in investment strategy support, and wealth and estate planning coordination. In this role, you will work directly alongside the Lead Wealth Advisor, take primary day-to-day ownership of a defined segment of small-to-mid tier client relationships, and serve as a trusted resource for both clients and the broader advisory team. This is a growth-oriented opportunity for someone who is operationally excellent today and eager to develop into a relationship lead over time.
Primary Responsibilities:
Client Coverage:
Serve as day-to-day contact for a defined segment of clients whose needs are primarily service and operational requests, with increasing advisory involvement over time.
Prepare for and attend client meetings (virtual and in-person with lead advisor): build agendas, coordinate materials, capture notes, and drive follow-up execution.
Coordinate client deliverables across investments, planning, reporting, and service, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
Build direct relationships with end clients and demonstrate ownership mentality on client experience.
Investment Strategy & Advisory Support:
Support the lead advisor with investment strategy work: meeting prep, portfolio/position review packets, proposal support, implementation coordination, and documentation of decisions.
Partner with internal investment and advisory resources to translate recommendations into clear client-ready communication and action steps.
Wealth Planning & Estate Planning Coordination:
Work directly with the firm’s Advisory Team to coordinate wealth plans and estate planning deliverables.
Manage planning workflows: data gathering, document collection, meeting coordination, action item tracking, and follow-through.
Team Operations & Administration:
Support daily administrative responsibilities (service requests, account maintenance coordination, forms/document workflows, and general client support).
Maintain excellent internal organization: CRM hygiene, task tracking, document management, and standardized templates.
Projects & Continuous Improvement (including AI enablement):
Coordinate and lead team projects related to business trends, investment trends/updates, and process improvements.
Help drive adoption of the firm’s AI tools to enhance client deliverables and team productivity (e.g., meeting summaries, task extraction, first-draft client communications, template standardization), with appropriate review and controls.
Experience & Skills Qualifications:
5–8 years supporting a private wealth or advisory practice in a client service / operations / advisory support capacity.
SIE, Series 7 and 66 licenses required.
-
Demonstrated experience across:
Client service and relationship support.
Operational/account maintenance workflows.
Exposure to investment strategy implementation and advisory support.
Planning coordination (financial planning and/or estate planning experience preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting directly with clients and centers of influence.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client workflows simultaneously.
High EQ, professional discretion, and strong follow-through.
Client ownership: anticipates needs, closes loops, communicates proactively.
Judgment + escalation: knows what to handle independently vs. when to escalate to the Lead Advisor.
Operational excellence: clean execution, minimal rework, and strong documentation.
Advisory curiosity: asks thoughtful questions, learns planning/investment concepts, and improves output quality over time.
Project leadership: can run a small initiative end-to-end with timelines and measurable outcomes.
Tech/AI fluency: comfortable adopting new tools while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and human review.
