What is the opportunity?

The Global Asset Management (GAM) legal team is looking to staff a Senior Counsel role located in London supporting RBC BlueBay’s investment management business.

What will you do?

Advise and assist on a wide range of matters concerning RBC BlueBay’s investment management business including but not limited to:

• drafting and negotiating client agreements including investment management agreements

• drafting and negotiating distribution and platform agreements

• drafting and negotiating a range of other commercial agreements

• client due diligence and RFPs

• provide legal advice on business initiatives

• assist the business in identifying and responding to regulatory change.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Extensive PQE.

• Experience in asset management either gained in private practice or in-house.

• Good knowledge of UK and EU legal and regulatory matters relevant to asset management.

• Sets high standards of performance for self and strives to meet challenging objectives. Acts with integrity and within both the spirit and the letter of RBC BlueBay's principles, policies and procedures.

• Considers own role within the commercial context and focusses on the client. Respects obligations to internal and external clients and investors and treats clients fairly.

• Displays a positive and energetic attitude, gets involved and proactively seeks out opportunities to advance the business. Shows excellent judgment and ability to manage competing priorities. Perseveres through challenges and remains calm and professional under pressure.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in CLOs.

• Experience in ESG regulation.

• Experience in cross-border marketing.
